Guest Teacher Kelly Boys

On Sunday August 4th, we’re excited to welcome Kelly Boys as our guest teacher.

Kelly has been our guest twice before and her deep groundedness and stillness, passion for non-dual inquiry, and wise integration of approaches for healing and calming the nervous system are something we always look forward to.

Kelly Boys is a mindfulness trainer and coach, and specializes in the NSDR (non sleep deep rest) practice of yoga nidra. Kelly has co-designed and delivered mindfulness and resilience programs at the UN, Google, and in San Quentin State Prison. She specializes in mindfulness-based yoga nidra meditation, and her voice can be found on the Oura Ring, Mindfulness.com, the Simple Habit app, and the Waking Up app. She works with the Foundation for a Mindful Society to help grow their Mindful Cities Initiative. Kelly is passionate about the intersection of spiritual awakening and applied mindfulness, and enjoys coaching people on their blind spots. She also loves consulting with large institutions to help them create and roll out scalable mindfulness programs.

From Kelly: Our theme for August 4th

This Sunday we will explore the concept of Touching Ground : the ground of being, the sense of groundedness in our body and mind, and the ground of truth, as well as making contact with the actual physical ground of the earth. A mentor once told me “the truth does not need to assert itself”. It just is. When we “touch ground” at these different levels of experience, we reinhabit the fullness of our firsthand experience. What’s known is known, and it does not need words and concepts to make it real or valid. The Buddha made the gesture of touching the ground to confirm his awakening: the motion symbolized that he didn’t need any other confirmation.

What we’ll be doing

  • inquire into Ground as a felt experience
  • inquire into the movement of “touching Ground” and making contact with truth, and with the earth
