Coming home

This 3-day retreat will be a chance for students of The Way meditation path, and of the Original Love meditation program, to gather together in order to go deeper in our practice than we normally do in the course of our daily and weekly schedule. Here, in the group setting of shared practice, we can drop in much deeper, and discover new levels of awareness and freedom in our sitting. We can come home to our life in new and deeper ways.

The four zones of practice

Henry will be leading the retreat throughout these days together. During this gathering, we will explore all four zones of practice that both The Way meditation app and the Original Love program invite us to develop in: mindfulness, support, flow, awakening.

Each of these zones offers its own ways of inviting us back into our true self, and we will have a chance to experiment with practice methods that help with this. The Way app students will find this retreat deeply supportive of their practice with The Way, and it will help them to develop their practice for the unfolding journey ahead.

Our true place in this world

Over the course of the three days, we will get inspired and encouraged by a variety of teachings, will share in discussion time, and also will experience live in-person Q&A with Henry.

Above all, this a chance to really come home to the heart of our life – back to our real self, which all our practice is really just an attempt to uncover and to return to. By releasing more thoroughly in the stillness of the shared space of practice, we come back to our true place in this world.

A beautiful setting for practice

Mountain Cloud is a great setting for practice. Built in 1985 by students of Philip Kapleau Roshi (editor of the classic Three Pillars of Zen), it is made of the earth on which it stands – a beautiful southwestern beamed adobe structure with touches of Japanese architecture, set amid 24 acres of beautiful Santa Fe landscape.
